When Life Gets Loud, I Walk
Whenever life becomes too loud, I walk.
When stress builds up, when I am stuck on a problem, or when I have a difficult decision to make, I put on my shoes and head outside.
Over time, hiking has become one of the most important rituals in my life.
At the beginning of the trail, I usually carry more than a backpack. I carry worries, unfinished thoughts, unanswered questions, and sometimes things I have been avoiding altogether.
But nature has a way of making everything feel simpler.
Kilometre after kilometre, my thoughts begin to settle. I rethink situations, accept what I cannot change, and often find clarity around things that once felt impossible to understand.
Somewhere between the silence, the exhaustion of the climb, and the view waiting at the top, problems that once felt enormous begin to shrink.
And when I return, I may be physically tired, but mentally I feel lighter.
Sometimes I come back having walked farther than ever before. Sometimes I discover a landscape that stays in my memory for years. Other times, I simply return with an answer I could not find before.
That is why hiking has never been only about exercise or beautiful views for me.
It is a reset button.
A way to clear my mind, challenge myself, and return with a different perspective.
So if you ever find yourself trapped in overthinking, pressure, or uncertainty, try walking.
You do not need to be an athlete or own expensive equipment.
Just step outside and start moving.
Sometimes, the best way to find your way back to yourself is simply to walk far enough away from the noise.
